Big thank you and a job well done

With so much negative spotlight on this pandemic we are stuck in (for now), I am finding solace in the kind gestures that are being shown throughout the sports industry. I find that in the society we live in, everyone is looking for the bad eggs in the crowd. So, I think to myself…no, no I don’t want the bad eggs and the negative press for attention (cough-cough Antonio Brown). I want people to know the kind hearts that are in some of our favorite sports figures. I did a little research and discovered a list of sports figures who are doing some good within their community to smooth some of the pain of this virus. Zion Williams (New Orleans Pelicans), Giannis Antetokounmpo (The Bucks ), Mark Cuban, The Washington Wizards, The 76er’s, Sacramento Kings, just to name a few, are putting their money where their mouth is and stepping up to continue to pay the salaries of their sports arena employees. Supporting your community in their time of need is one way to show them that you really do care for them and their families. Other players such as J.J. Watt, Russ and Ciara Wilson, Drew and Brittany Brees, Adrien and Ashley Peterson are donating money to supply meals for students/senior citizens in need. These acts of kindness should be broadcast all over the news so that our younger sports stars have the opportunity to see that it is not always about YOU. What else do you offer outside of your athleticism? Teach them the value of giving back. My Steelers themed hat gets tipped to all of these top notch sports figures who are holding down their communities. THANK YOU! ~BBTV Creator Cleo Faucette
